Dr Ian Hart has been a freelance documentary film maker and a professor of educational technology at universities in Paris, Hong Kong and Canberra. Now retired, he writes short stories and novels and occasionally prances upon the stage. Writing is lonely work and he enjoys the camaraderie of the Canberra Writers Saturday Sharing & Feedback sessions. In 2025 his short story Anchovies won first prize in the Marion Science & Storytelling competition and more short stories are published in anthologies and on-line. His first novel, The 3-Dimensional Boy was privately published. He is currently completing a pair of novels set in the 1890s in the Canberra district and Hong Kong. and is knee deep in query letters to publishers. In the event that he ever gets a swollen head, Ian regularly plays golf, which functions like the Roman slave who reminded Caesar he was mortal.
